We had the very best Spring Break with our east coast cousins, the Sedgwicks, as well as Grandma and Grandpa. We rented a big suburban here in New Jersey and drove the 18 hours to Florida. We made a few pit stops along the way, one of which was Savannah, Georgia. I grew up in Georgia and haven't been back in several years, and it was so nice to be back amongst the muggy weather and gorgeous moss trees. Savannah is stunning- we took a tour and saw most of the old city, and then walked back to our favorite spots to explore more closely. The mansions are so beautiful and the green squares sprinkled all over the city add to its splendor and charm. Loved the churches and graveyards- weird, I know--but they were so old and so cool.
My mom found this really great house right outside of Panama City that was literally RIGHT ON the beach. It was perfect. When we arrived, we immediately ran outside to see the ocean and feel the sand. We were all a little distracted when we headed back inside and Tessa kept on wandering, unbeknownst to us. We didn't realize for a few minutes that she was gone, and obviously we were extremely panicked. We ran outside yelling her name and found her just down from our house with a group of really nice people, who had already called the police. So scary, but we were so glad we found her.
The kids were in the water and sand from the time the sun came up until it went down. I'm not sure why we even brought clothes! Our house also had a hot tub, which was used a TON as well. I grew up always going to Florida beaches, which, in my opinion, are the best beaches because the sand is a powdery white and the water is almost always a crystal blue.
Cousin best friends...nothing better.
A beach vacation with my kids is my favorite kind of vacation. Lots of relaxing, playing, and laughing all mixed in together making the best memories.
Love these two babies of the families. Our niece, Jane, is pretty much the cutest little 3 year old on the planet with her gigantic brown eyes. No one can get enough of her, but she plays a lot of hard-to-get. ;)
